Bodwell Quarry

Beginning in 1835 local operators began to cut high quality granite from this site in Roxbury. Between 1871 and 1900 granite cut here was shipped to help construct the New York State House in Albany. This presentation traces the natural history and economic record of the Bodwell Quarry.
